Short Stories by Harald Tomesch a.k.a. Jamie

How Easy Is That – This short story was inspired by Stephen King’s book “On Writing: A Memoir on the Craft.” In book includes two parts. The first half is his autobiography, and the second part is based on grammar. The only assignment in the book is to write a short story based on reversing his story line as King tries to explain the difference between plot and story. This short story is the fruit of this exercise. At one time Stephen King welcomed short stories but he no longer reviews them.

Back to Basics – This is a sequel to the HOW EASY IS THAT and I plan on publishing these two stories as a dos-si-dos genre book. In the first story, a murderous plot is hatched. In this story the antagonist comes to life again and it results in a delightful twist.

Red Turbulence – A True Story – This short story is a true story of an American hero. This soldier shared his experience of flying his F52 Thunderstreak jet through the cloud of a nuclear blast in the 1950’s with me. A very interesting read.

BO – A True Story – This is a true story based on a story told to me by my accountant. You never know where a story finds its inspiration. BO was royalty. BUT now think of being stuck on Ellis Island and having your royal titles stripped from you. This delightful story comes to life with an ironic twist.

Next Year’s SIWC Writer’s Contest closes in September 2025. Why not write your story on vacation and enter for $15.00 CDN?
