Dining in Curacao – When Noon Is King

Willemstad or Fortress Restaurant

Choices vary on dining at noon at Curacao if you have a car. For example, Fort Nassau is just perfect by car. At this noon dining experience you will find a superb wine menu and excellent meals. We recommend it highly but while the view is different – you will appreciate the harbor and the industry of the largest of the ABC Islands. If you have a car and want a beach club with the best pools on the Island then the lunch menu including smoked salmon and capers is to die for, then the Playa Beach Club is the best. It was our favorite experience on the Island. Pictures of the pool and Playa Food below. The smoked Salmon was heavenly, and we have perfected the recipe at home. The Playa Beach Club was the crowning experience in Curacao even though it took 45 minutes to get there!

If you stay at a hotel as we also did or are on a cruise you are a short walk from delicious choices in Willemstad.  These are in the order of our favorites.

Classic Dutch Pancakes a seen in the photos below. Outdoor seating. Take a look at their website.

Artistic, friendly, an limitless Mimosas. One of the most memorable breakfasts of my life. Honestly.

Just a great dining experience.  When you experience them day after day at noon the top three choices for restaurants are interchangeable.

This restaurant if for locals and we enjoyed a Sunday Bruch dressed for Church like the locals. Near a stone quarry it has great views of Jan Thiel.

Part of a dozen restaurants in the Old Fort. You could spend two weeks exploring these fine lunch menus.

A Marina Restaurant which boasts Island food but with it entrance to a pristine beach without paying at the entrance. Tell the park gate keepers you have reservations here. At the restaurant ask for wrist bands to enter the beach.  In that order!

Along the seaway across the bridge and to the left in Willemstad.  You get to watch the ferries and the locals. Food was just ok.

A must if you have a kitchen and fridge.  We went three times during our stay. Twice by car into Willemstad and once crossing the floating bridge by foot.  This journey takes you along the colorful building which line the towns harbor.
