You Should Take A Dip

Geology may be able to explain thermal springs, but we still like to believe there’s a magical element at work. Slipping into steamy water with stones as your bathtub and sky as your ceiling is just that wonderfully surreal.
While there are stunning springs to take a dip in worldwide, we’ve focused on all the thermal goodness we have right here in the USA.
With hundreds and hundreds of American thermal springs, we think it’s safe to say we’ve left off a few. What are your favorite hot springs in the USA? Send us your photos and thoughts!
Langford Hot Spring, Texas
Tucked away in the rugged beauty of Big Bend National Park, small hot springs dot the landscape, offering a tranquil soak beside the flowing Rio Grande. The most renowned of these is the Langford Hot Springs, also called Boquillas Hot Springs or Big Bend Hot Springs, resting at the meeting of Tornillo Creek and the Rio Grande.
This cherished spot invites visitors to relax in its warm, mineral-rich waters while surrounded by the breathtaking scenery of the desert. Enclosed by a simple brick wall in the early 20th century, the spring was transformed into a soothing pool that continues to draw travelers seeking peace and rejuvenation.
Beyond the springs themselves, the area is steeped in history. The limestone cliffs nearby bear the marks of ancient visitors, their stories etched in timeless rock art. The Hot Springs Historic District further enriches the experience, showcasing artifacts and remnants from those who once found solace and healing in this serene corner of the world.
Here, nature and history converge, creating a place where the warmth of the springs and the whispers of the past offer a moment of reflection and renewal.
